Our facility, which started operations in 1975 in Targoviste, Romania, became part of our Mining and Metallurgy Companies in 2002 and continues to export high-quality electrical steel to the world from the heart of Europe under the name Erdemir Romania.
Our Company produces siliceous flat steel, a principal input for the engine, transformer and generator industries. Erdemir Romania, which has commanded a key position in this field in Europe, directs 20% of its production to the Romanian domestic market while exporting 80% of its production to various countries, especially in Europe.
With an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons, Erdemir Romania provides products in fully processed NGO (non-oriented grain) grades. With nearly 50 years of technical expertise, we offer high-quality products and services for all electronics and technical applications, including electric motors, power transformers, and generator manufacturing industries.
Located near Europe's main transportation routes, our company operates under OYAK Mining and Metallurgy, Türkiye's largest steel producer. Thanks to the synergy within the group, we operate with a business model aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards, strengthening both our technical and financial capabilities. Furthermore, in 2023, we received the IATF 16949:2016 Quality Management System Certificate, which validates the high quality of our products and the compliance of our processes with automotive industry standards, reaffirming our excellence in the sector.
